If you are on a diet, you face many challenges to your self control. There are so many things to keep track of: watching calories, working out every day, and avoiding snacking. Unfortunately, night time is that time when one becomes hungry or bored. One then craves fatty or salty food rather than healthy food. Luckily, one can stop evening snacking and craving unhealthy food.
One of the most dangerous places to be in the evening is sitting in front of the television. If one's hands are free, they will usually find themselves digging into a bag of chips or holding a bar of candy.
Avoiding the television in the evening is a good idea. Get outside, walk around the block, exercise at night, visit people or read a book. If you can't help but watch television, do something with your hands besides eat. Now is a good time to learn a hobby like knitting or crocheting. You can even do chores or lift little weights.
Sometimes it can be almost impossible to break the snacking. If this is the case, it can be a good idea to replace snacking with something that will help satisfy cravings. Drinking coffee or tea can help curve the cravings. Chewing gum can fill that sweet flavor and the need to chew. Brushing ones teeth after dinner can also be a good idea, since the minty fresh flavor makes most foods less appealing
If you are hungry at night, look for healthy foods that will still fill you up. If you eat lean meats and proteins, it will fill you up and usually stop the cravings for fatty or salty foods. It's a good idea to eat a filling meal prior to 6 p. M. To stop late night stacking.
Remember that you have diet goals. Keep your diet plan out and write in your food journal. Take a quick step on the scale to firmly plant your goals in your head and help stop evening snacking.
