Is there really food that burns more calories than it’s worth?
There have been many diets that feature foods that supposedly burn more calories to digest them than they contain. These foods have even been name “negative calorie” foods. We even give you a list of many of these negative calorie diets below.

However, did you know there really is food that burns more calories — not more calories than it’s worth, but more calories than other foods burn to digest.
What’s the food? Can you guess? It’s lean protein! Your body uses more calories to digest lean protein (about 25 calories burned to 100 calories eaten), than it used to digest carbohydrates and fats (uses 10-15 calories for ever 100 calories eaten).
So, what does this mean? It means, if you concentrate on eating more lean meats you will burn more calories. Plus, protein helps you build muscles, which in turn helps your burn more calories.
