Be Bad, Indulge When Dieting & Still Lose Weight!
Sometimes it’s GOOD to be BAD when Dieting … Like a Big Mac Good or Banana Split Good …
Besides the wonderful good taste benefits, eating “bad” stuff WITHOUT REMORSE helps keeps us on a diet … As long as we DON’T get the attitude of “well, I went off my diet, I might as well go wild now”.
Being BAD on your diet occasionally, should NOT be viewed as failure. You simply have your indulgence, do not feel guilty about it, and get right back to what you were doing to lose weight.
Now, this may seem easier than what it really is …, so let’s add a few simple rules:
There is a way to have pleasurable NO-NO diet foods, they just have to be balanced out.
First determine what occasionally is — for instance you can use a 20/80 rule. If 80% of the time, you eat well with diet food, than you might want to indulge 20% of the time.
Or, if you say to yourself, when I go to such & such restaurant, I can get the …. (only if you go to such & such restaurant once a month or so).
You can pair up the good with the bad. For instance if you LOVE french fries or potato chips, then pair it up ONLY with a salad tossed with just vinegar or lemon juice — no oil.
Substitute, don’t add the indulgence. If you would prefer a small slice of cake, instead of veggie sticks & hummus dip, eat one or the other, not both.
Eat ONLY what you crave. Don’t waste the indulgence; don’t eat it just because it’s there. Don’t eat yucky cookies or old candy because they’re sitting there. Make sure what you splurge on is Really, really good.
Once you give yourself the OKAY to indulge, eat it really, really slowwwww. Be aware of each and every bite and enjoy each and every bite.
Remember, if you indulge once in a while, it’s okay cause, you know you’ll get back on your diet immediately.
:) See Ya!
